Axial completes a new 30 MW photovoltaic project in Hornachos, Badajoz
Axial, a leading company in the design, manufacture and operation of solar trackers for utility scale photovoltaic projects, has just completed the supply of 30MW for a new photovoltaic plant located in Hornachos, Badajoz.
The complexity of the project has been successfully completed thanks to the use of its AxialTracker Twin twin-tracker, which has made it possible to adapt to the orographic difficulties of the plant. Specifically, the project has been characterized by steep slopes in both directions, with maximum slopes of around 15%. An added difficulty that the company has solved with the homokinetic technology incorporated in its AxialTracker Twin.
Hornachos will generate around 70 GWh of clean energy per year, avoiding the emission of 56 tons of CO2. This means providing energy to 18,400 homes annually.
AxialTracker Twin homokinetic technology
In addition, the modern AxialTracker Twin device also makes it possible to coordinate both rows of the tracker without having to keep them parallel to each other. This system meets the needs of the plant and, at the same time, offers greater safety and product quality. The Badajoz project also used 1P trackers, a combined technology for greater efficiency.
Axial was the first company worldwide to incorporate homokinetic transmission technology in the design of its trackers. A solution that allows both rows of the tracker to operate perfectly coordinated without being subordinated to remain aligned and parallel to each other. In this way, the great advantage offered is to be able to locate the trackers in irregular orography since they can work with different slopes and misalignments.
It is also important to highlight the issue of sustainability in these works as they avoid having to carry out costly earthworks. An issue that contributes significantly to a reduction of the environmental impact of the projects.
International benchmark in the photovoltaic sector
In recent years, Axial has established itself as an international benchmark in the design and manufacture of solar trackers and fixed structures for photovoltaic installations. One of its main hallmarks is its commitment to a high level of technological development in all its proposals, which allows it to provide great advances in the design and manufacture of solar trackers.
