The shipment has been <strong>collected through donations from companies and individuals throughout Spain<\/strong>, and aims to support the various projects that the NGO carries out in the Sanyong region, near the Atlantic coast of the country.<\/p>\n<p>Sending aid to other countries, especially to the African continent, requires a series of steps and procedures to ensure that the cargo reaches its destination in perfect condition. For this reason, <strong>Amigos de Gambia has trusted Transportainer for several years to manage its solidarity shipments.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h5>Life-changing containers<\/h5>\n<p>Friends of The Gambia, an initiative that originated from the visit to The Gambia of a group of friends who, after seeing the reality of its inhabitants and their living conditions, decided to do something else to promote the development of this country that amazed them.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the efforts and selfless help of hundreds of Amigos de Gambia&#8217;s collaborators, it was able to fill its first solidarity container in 2013, and today, already constituted as an association, <strong>there are more than a dozen successful shipments.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Practically since its beginnings, <strong>Transportainer has been the freight forwarder in charge of coordinating the logistics<\/strong> necessary to successfully cover the more than 3,500 kilometers that separate Spain from Gambia.<\/p>\n<h5>Child-centred aid<\/h5>\n<p>The vast majority of <strong>the projects promoted by Amigos de Gambia are related to children and health<\/strong>. In a country with an illiteracy rate of 60% and with only 11 doctors per 100,000 inhabitants (in Spain the rate is almost 400), foreign aid can make a big difference when it comes to promoting the development of a community.<\/p>\n<p>For this reason, the association&#8217;s shipments are plentiful of sanitary supplies and school supplies.
