A help that, <strong>through the different companies<\/strong> that make up the holding, and with the involvement of all the workers, aimed to mitigate the serious effects that the pandemic has had on hundreds of families. <strong>Solidarity<\/strong> is always necessary but in times of COVID-19 it becomes essential.<\/p>\n<p>With these charitable initiatives, Alonso Group has once again set an example of <strong>effort, willingness and dedication<\/strong> to others, as it has collaborated with up to <strong>five NGOs<\/strong> in different areas. Specifically, they are local (Casa de la Caridad de Valencia), national (The Food Bank and Red Cross) and international (Doctors Without Borders and Unicef).<\/p>\n<h5>The Food Bank, solidarity aid in the year of the pandemic<\/h5>\n<p>A total of <strong>1,500 kilos of basic necessities<\/strong>. This is the record figure that Alonso Group&#8217;s employees have managed to collect this year for delivery to the <a href=\"https:\/\/bancodealimentosdevalencia.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Valencia Food Bank<\/a>. In addition, more contributions have been made to other food banks in different Spanish provinces, such as <strong>Algeciras<\/strong>, through <strong>physical deliveries<\/strong> of products or <strong>online financial contributions<\/strong>. The doors of this NGO are <strong>open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year<\/strong>. The Alonso Group&#8217;s important economic contribution will be used to pay for the day-to-day running of the association, which has <strong>nursery schools, a soup kitchen, shelters and delivers food<\/strong> <strong>kits<\/strong> to the needy. The continuing fighting has left the country on the brink of a devastating famine affecting up to <strong>14 million Yemenis.<\/strong> It is now one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world, despite being a &#8216;forgotten war&#8217; because of the lack of attention it receives. In 2019 <strong>Alonso Group<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/grupo-alonso.com\/en\/alonso-group-triples-its-efforts-in-its-solidarity-campaigns-during-christmas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">has already collaborated<\/a> with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.doctorswithoutborders.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Doctors without Borders<\/a> for its charity activities in the country, and in 2020, where medical cooperation is more necessary than ever, it will once again support this global NGO to combat the hard effects of the conflict.<\/p>\n<div style=\"padding: 56.25% 0 0 0; position: relative;\"><iframe style=\"position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%;\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/496832811\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<h5><\/h5>\n<h5>UNICEF, the child support network<\/h5>\n<p>The United Nations Children&#8217;s Fund (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unicef.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">UNICEF<\/a>), which strives to improve the<strong> quality of life<\/strong> of children and their families, has been another destination for Alonso Group&#8217;s aid at <strong>international level<\/strong>. Specifically, this item will <strong>cover campaigns<\/strong> to vaccinate children against such common diseases as measles, polio, tuberculosis, diphtheria and tetanus in developing countries.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UNICEF<\/strong> is the world&#8217;s largest supplier of vaccines (2.43 billion doses in 2019) and part of GAVI, the Global Alliance for Vaccines, which in recent years has provided vaccines for more than <strong>760 million children<\/strong> and prevented more than 13 million deaths. Currently the NGO offers accommodation and food bags to homeless people, migrants or other groups at risk of social exclusion in our country. Aware of this situation, the holding company has made an economic contribution to this organisation in order to avoid <strong>situations of greater vulnerability and lack of protection.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Without a doubt, this is a set of actions of which we can feel very proud and in which we have tried not to leave anyone indifferent or behind. The solidarity campaigns are part of the <strong>Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)<\/strong> area of <a href=\"https:\/\/grupo-alonso.com\/en\/about-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alonso Group<\/a>, where, every year, different activities are organised with the firm commitment to help those groups that are most disadvantaged or in need in society.
