SAM Algeciras renews its certification for organic products to broaden its specialised offer

The multimodal logistics platform that Alonso Group manages in the hinterland of the port of Algeciras, SAM Algeciras, continues to strengthen its position as a benchmark in the agri-food logistics sector. In this line, the company has recently renewed the certification of organic products in its refrigerated facilities, a recognition granted by the certification body SHC (Sohiscert), specialised in the verification of standards in organic production.
This renewal guarantees that SAM Algeciras complies with all the requirements demanded by European regulations on the storage, handling and conservation of organic products. This reaffirms the company’s commitment to food safety, traceability and maximum quality, values increasingly demanded by consumers in international markets.
Thanks to this certification, the company is able to handle organic products that require controlled refrigeration. These goods, mainly destined for European markets, require specialised handling to preserve their properties throughout the logistics chain. In this sense, SAM Algeciras reinforces its commitment to innovation and diversification of specialised services, consolidating the platform as a logistics node of reference for sensitive and high added value goods in southern Europe.
Operational excellence for strategic infrastructure
The SAM Algeciras facilities, which stand out for their multimodal nature, offer comprehensive logistics solutions for both imports and exports. A modern and strategic infrastructure to respond to the demands of the agri-food sector, especially in the handling of perishable products that require specific temperature or sanitary control conditions.
Currently, the multimodal logistics platform offers a warehouse service (50,000 m2), dry storage (22,600 m2) and 5,200 m2 of cold storage (11 cold rooms) with capacity for more than 7,800 pallets, making it a benchmark facility on the Iberian Peninsula. SAM Algeciras also has an unbeatable location: direct access to the Mediterranean motorway as well as its proximity to the port of Algeciras and the Logistics Activities Zone. All this allows it to operate as a key logistics hub for international trade, facilitating the efficient transit of goods between Latin America, Europe and Africa.
