Successful conclusion of the master’s degree in business management in the maritime-port sector organized by Alonso Group and UCV
For the third consecutive year, Alonso Group has participated in the organization of the Master in Maritime Law and Strategic Economic Management of the Maritime-Port Company of the Catholic University of Valencia (UCV). As part of its business values, Alonso Group is aware of the importance of collaborating in the training and search for new talent in order to aspire to excellence in each of the fields in which it develops its activities.
Subject to constant technological, legal and economic changes, the field of international maritime trade is one of the most complex and strategic worldwide. For this reason, companies are increasingly demanding a professional profile trained not only in theory but also in the reality of the environment in which they are going to work.
Comprehensive theoretical and practical education
With the aim of guaranteeing a close training to the students, Alonso Group has collaborated with the university institution through a double way: First, with an important contribution to the staff of teachers. In this sense, executives from the different companies of the group have participated as speakers in sessions in which they have contributed not only their theoretical knowledge, but also their valuable personal and professional experience.
On the other hand, the students were able to enjoy theoretical and practical classes, visiting the logistics facilities of the Alonso Group located in the province of Valencia. They have visited the headquarters of Operinter in Alboraia, the Intersagunto port terminal in the Port of Sagunto, the Setemar logistics platform in Quart de Poblet or the Pobla Marina Marina in Pobla de Farnals.
In this way, during the nine months of teaching, the ten students who have participated in this comprehensive training programme have not only had the opportunity to acquire the most up-to-date knowledge, but also to experience first-hand what the day-to-day life of one of the most important logistics companies in Spain is like.
The’Alonso Grant’ a recognition of talent
This year’s edition of the Master’s Degree in Maritime Law and Strategic Economic Management of the Maritime-Port Company has had an important novelty with a view to favouring the integration of students into working life: the creation of the `Alonso Grant‘.
This is an agreement with the Catholic University of Valencia to offer an employment contract to students who, in the opinion of the faculty, have significantly excelled both in their level of achievement and in their skills, competencies and potential for professional development.
In this way, recent graduates will have the opportunity to enter the professional market and gain experience in one of the most important companies in the national and international logistics sector in the current panorama.
