Alonso Group recognizes talent and academic excellence through the awarding of the 9th Alonso Grant

The holding reaffirms its commitment to training and recruiting young talent through the Alonso Grant. This scholarship recognizes academic effort and excellence, strengthening the bond between the university community and the business world.

Master's degree graduates

Alonso Group participated in the closure ceremony for the academic year of the Master’s Degree in Maritime Law and Economic-Strategic Management offered by the Catholic University of Valencia (UCV). The event brought together nearly 180 attendees, including students, family members, faculty, and institutional representatives, to celebrate the graduation of a new class of professionals.

Betting on young talent

During the ceremony, the corporation’s president and CEO, Jorge Alonso, presented the 9th Alonso Grant, which consists of an employment contract with one of the companies in the holding company’s Logistics Area. This year, two grants were awarded, covering the 2024–2025 and 2025–2026 academic years, as no grants were awarded last year. The recipients were Julio Lacal Aliaga and Ana Isabel Ruiz Martínez, in recognition of their excellent academic records and their commitment to specializing in the field of maritime law. From now on, these two young students will embark on a new phase in which they will be able to put into practice, in real-world work environments, all the knowledge and skills they acquired during their studies.

The ceremony was held jointly with students from the Master’s degrees in Corporate Legal Consulting and Tax Consulting. In addition, Marta Catalán Montero, Regional Director of Customs and Special Taxes of Valencia for the State Tax Administration Agency, has served as class godmother and addressed the graduates.

University-Business synergies

Through initiatives like this one, the Alonso holding fosters connections between the academic field and the business world, helping young talent complete their training in a demanding, international professional environment. This synergy reflects the values that define the corporation—humility, versatility, commitment, hard work, quality, dynamism, and evolution—and helps develop professionals prepared to tackle the challenges of a constantly evolving sector, creating value for both individuals and society. In this way, the convergence between academic training and the real demands of the market is strengthened, ensuring a gradual and rigorous transition toward increasingly competitive and dynamic business environments.
