Alonso Group continues to be committed to developing its refrigeration division and has just presented the new Fripecan facilities in Madrid. The company, a specialist in controlled temperature transport, already has almost ten operating centres in Valencia, Barcelona, Algeciras, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Alicante, Sagunto and Madrid. Thanks to its collaboration with Marítima Alisea, Fripecan aims to become the most competitive option to connect the Peninsula with the Canary Islands through the Port of Sagunto.
Fripecan is the Alonso Group company specialized in the refrigerated transport of goods between the Iberian Peninsula and the Canary Islands. In line with Alonso Group’s commitment to strengthening its cold logistics division, the company, which already has almost ten offices throughout Spain, presented its new facilities in Madrid to the media this morning.

Located in the Madrid Transport Centre, Fripecan’s new headquarters in the Spanish capital has offices, loading and unloading bays and refrigerated storage warehouses with dual temperature chambers. All this allows an integral management of goods at three temperatures: ambient, refrigerated and frozen.

Its location next to Mercamadrid and its perfect communication with the main motorways, as well as with the Abroñigal railway terminal and Madrid-Barajas airport, make these facilities the ideal base for optimising delivery times in perishable goods transport operations.

The most competitive option between the peninsula and the Canary Islands

During the presentation of these new warehouses, the head of Fripecan, Miguel Ángel Yagüe, highlighted the enormous comparative advantage for the company of having the entire infrastructure network of the Alonso Group. “We are one of the few logistic operators that participate in our own intermodal circuit, which integrates shipping companies, forwarding agents, shipping companies, transport companies and maritime and railway platforms“.

Fripecan, thanks to its close collaboration with Marítima Alisea, a company of the Alonso Group that markets a regular line to the Canary Islands, has managed to position itself as the most competitive option to connect the peninsula and the islands in the shortest possible time. In this sense, Fernando Rodríguez, manager of Marítima Alisea, pointed out that “this collaboration is very positive for both companies, although the main beneficiary is our client, since it provides an integral service through a single interlocutor who controls each link of the logistics chain”.

As a result of this joint work, Fripecan has been successfully marketing a temperature-controlled groupage service to the Canary Islands from Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia for several months, which has already become one of its most sought-after services thanks to a combination of agility, speed and reliability at the best price.

The priority objective of both companies is to ensure that the customer does not have to worry about anything as they have a highly qualified team of people specializing in processing documentation with customs in seaports.
