Alonso Group consolidates its presence in Central America with Alonso Forwarding Honduras launch

The Alonso Group international structure continues to grow with the launch of a new branch, Alonso Forwarding Honduras. The office, located in the country’s industrial city of San Pedro Sula Cortés and just 55 kilometres from Puerto Cortés maritime terminal, reinforces the extensive coverage currently provided by the international brand Alonso Forwarding in the LATAM region.
Alonso Forwarding Honduras, which is now fully operational, provides all types of integrated logistics services in all modes of transport and multimodal for all types of goods and projects. The branch has the experience and good relations to cover operations in the main ports of the country such as Puerto Cortés as the main artery for maritime transport, as well as Puerto Castilla and San Lorenzo / El Henecan.
Also in terms of air transport, Honduras currently has five airports with international status, including Ramón Villeda Morales (SAP), Toncontín (TGU) and the recently integrated Palmerola (XPL), which began operations in 2022, and is projected as a strategic logistics centre for the growing export sector of agricultural and manufactured products.
Honduras is a crucial point for road transport, connecting with countries such as Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama. It is currently developing seven logistics corridors that will substantially improve connectivity with the rest of Central America to support trade, industry and the tourism sector.
The start-up of the new Alonso Forwarding Honduras office will allow it to position itself as an intermediary for crosstrade transactions thanks to the infrastructure and international connections of the Alonso Forwarding network. Finally, in the field of e-commerce, the branch is already working to incorporate platforms that directly connect the services in the network, which will facilitate automated management, real-time tracking and secure transport of goods.
Alonso Forwarding Honduras provides complementary services for any logistics operation, such as goods insurance, import and export customs services and international trade consultancy. A great proposal from a branch whose main objective is to consolidate its presence in the Honduran market and be one of the main options for customers through a personalised, competitive service and at the forefront of all new trends in logistics operations. “Our mission is to provide an innovative service experience with global integration for all logistics needs to and from Honduras. Our greatest added value is Alonso Forwarding’s international network that will allow us to provide an effective alliance and a secure world-class logistics connection”, says Martha Jackie Mejía, Managing Director of Alonso Forwarding Honduras.
Honduras influence in the region’s logistics chain
Honduras is currently seeking to position itself as a logistics hub in the region by being able to connect with large markets in Europe, Asia and America. The country has the geographical advantages of having a strategic position in Central America and access to the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, which allow it to have the conditions to be a logistics centre of reference. It also has 9 logistics corridors, ports and airports that connect and facilitate the transport of goods throughout the national territory and the rest of the region.
Alonso Forwarding: expansion, competitiveness and sustainability
In recent years, the Alonso Forwarding brand has been strengthening its presence in the main international markets (North America, LATAM, Central America, Asia, Europe, Maghreb…) in order to offer the most complete service and coverage to its customers. In its firm decision to improve competitiveness in the market, Alonso Forwarding is making a strong commitment to the digitisation of its operations, the increase of specialised services together with the strengthening of alliances always under the approach of sustainability.
