Alonso Group has renewed its support for the new edition of the Master’s program in Maritime Law and Economic-Strategic Management, offered annually by the Catholic University of Valencia (UCV). This specialized program combines a comprehensive perspective with business, strategic, and legal approaches. Its goal is to prepare future professionals in the sector to face current and upcoming challenges in logistics and maritime affairs, equipping them with all the necessary tools.

During the inaugural session, Jorge Alonso, Alonso Group’s President and CEO, reminded students that motivation and determination are key to facing challenges. You must dare, make your own decisions, and be passionate about what you do. If you approach your work with passion, you won’t feel like you’re working”. He also emphasized that we are living through times of rapid change. The supply chain experiences fluctuations, and now more than ever, we need to adapt with agility and decisiveness. Geopolitics is decisive for the sector”.

Faculty with experience and practical training

As in previous editions, executives from companies within Alonso Group’s logistics division participate as instructors in the Master’s program. This combination of experience and practical knowledge allows students to gain a comprehensive understanding of the maritime business and develop the skills necessary to successfully face professional challenges.

The 2025–2026 training program includes educational visits to various strategic sites such as ports, airports, and terminals. Among them are facilities managed by Alonso Group, including Intersagunto Terminales at the Port of Sagunto, Setemar, and the Pobla Marina. These activities allow students to gain firsthand knowledge of the daily operations of logistics facilities, understand the supply chain as a whole, and acquire tools to optimize key processes that ensure operational efficiency within the maritime sector.

Geopolitical risks in today’s world

During the inaugural conference, the complex network of geopolitical risks in today’s world was also highlighted. For example, tariffs driven by policies such as those of Trump have a direct impact on costs and the flow of goods. In this context,” emphasized Jorge Alonso, understanding the risk landscape becomes essential to anticipate movements in a scenario dominated by three major blocs: the Asian axis, the European Union, and the United States with its allies.”

8th Alonso Scholarship Award

Likewise, during the event, young professional Alexandra Adam Martorell, the most recent recipient of the Alonso Scholarship, took the floor to share her experience in the professional world and encouraged students to seize all opportunities for training and personal growth that come their way”.

Finally, once this edition of the 2025–2026 Master’s program concludes, the 8th Alonso Scholarship will be awarded to the most outstanding student of the cohort. This distinction recognizes the effort made throughout the year and includes a job contract with one of the companies within Alonso Group’s logistics division.
