Alonso Group’s land transport division continues to evolve towards a more sustainable fleet

Alonso Group, with operational bases in Valencia, Alicante, Murcia, Barcelona, Madrid, and Algeciras, has added new electric tractors to its fleet. This is part of its commitment to offering an efficient, sustainable, and environmentally friendly transport service powered by clean energy.
The corporation is thus strengthening its road transport offering in the Iberian Peninsula with vehicles that incorporate the most advanced technology on the market in their category. The acquisitions, specifically the Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 model with 100% electric propulsion, represent a solid alternative to standard diesel trucks. These tractors are already successfully operating in more than 15 European countries in medium and long-distance services.
In the words of the Management, “we continue to promote the decarbonization of road freight transport. Our commitment to green energy in our fleet allows us to move towards sustainable, efficient, and environmentally friendly mobility”.
Measurable emission savings
The eActros model range offers clear potential for reducing carbon dioxide emissions compared to diesel models. In fact, if only electricity from renewable energy sources is used, emissions are reduced compared to a diesel vehicle. In addition, the use of clean energy helps improve air quality in cities and reduces noise pollution.
Autonomy and performance
On a technical level, the new tractors stand out for incorporating an internally developed electric drive axle and a battery with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cell technology, renowned for its long service life and efficiency of over 95%. The on-board electrical system operates at 800 volts, improving performance and fast-charging capacity. In addition, the vehicle integrates numerous driver assistance systems designed under strict safety criteria. A set of key requirements for long-distance heavy traffic and delivery with extensive electric range.
For this acquisition, Alonso Group has received funding from the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan (PRTR) of the Spanish Government’s General State Administration (AGE) within the framework of the European Union’s NextGenerationEU funds.
Thanks to this investment, it continues to consolidate its position in the market, offering an effective, competitive, and committed service for a company that has traveled 76 million kilometers in the last year.
