Marítima Alisea and Fripecan reinforce their operations with the inauguration of their new office in Barcelona

The companies of Alonso Group, specialists in cold logistics, open their new headquarters in a strategic location in Barcelona. This change of location will strengthen the operational level of both companies that already have a dozen offices throughout the peninsula.

The Alonso Group has given a new impulse to its commitment to cold logistics with the establishment of a new headquarters in Barcelona for two of its companies: Marítima Alisea as a regular line with the Canary Islands and Fripecan as a logistic operator specialized in controlled temperature.

The new offices are located inside the Barcelona Intermodal Multipurpose Terminal (BTIP), a 220,000 m2 intermodal logistics platform that Alonso Group manages in the area of influence of the port of Barcelona.

In this way, as indicated by Fernando Rodríguez, director of Marítima Alisea,“both companies benefit from the advantages and synergies generated by participating in their own intermodal logistics circuit which includes shipping companies, freight forwarders, maritime terminals and transport and auxiliary services companies”.

The change of offices in Barcelona also demonstrates the consolidation of the two leading companies in the cold logistics sector nationwide, specialising in multimodal transport between the Iberian Peninsula and the Canary Islands at three temperatures (cooled, frozen and room temperature) in full load and fractionated.

Both companies have several warehouses that are strategically distributed in the most important logistic centres of the peninsula such as Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia or Algeciras.

This extensive network of logistical infrastructures is perfectly interconnected, which allows them to offer a temperature-controlled groupage service to the Canary Islands from Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia.

As Rodríguez has pointed out, Alonso Group cold logistics division is presented as “the most competitive solution for transport between the Iberian Peninsula and the Canary Islands at any temperature“.

Currently, Maritima Alisea and Fripecan have more than ten offices located in Valencia, Barcelona, Algeciras, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Alicante, Sagunto and Madrid. The priority objective of both companies is to ensure that the customer does not have to worry about anything because they have a highly qualified human group specialized in processing documentation with customs at sea ports.

Its warehouses are equipped with the latest technological advances designed to achieve an impeccable treatment of temperature, to guarantee the maintenance of the cold chain at all times: bi-temperature warehouses, loading and unloading areas with refrigerated corridors, computerized temperature control and real-time tracking of the merchandise.

They also have a large team of reefer specialists, who guarantee a comprehensive service that includes from consolidation and groupage, to maintenance and repair of all types of equipment.
