Transped obtains the GDP certificate for the transport of medicinal products for human use

Transped, an international transport company integrated in Alonso Group freight forwarding division, has just achieved the GDP (Good Distribution Practices) certification, which accredits compliance with the guidelines for the distribution of active ingredients for human medicines and the transport for human use.
The certificates, issued by SGS with the number ES23/00000992 and ES23/00000994, have been obtained after months of exhaustive preparation and complete the international forwarder’s logistics services offer aimed at all types of industries. In the words of Transped’s management, “this achievement marks an important milestone in the company’s commitment to supply chain excellence. It also ensures the quality and safety of the pharmaceutical and healthcare products we transport”.
GDP documentation is an internationally recognised standard that ensures that companies involved in the transport and distribution of pharmaceuticals and drug additives comply with the strictest regulations and guidelines to guarantee product integrity and patient safety.
Benefits of certification
By obtaining certification, Transped can guarantee the safety and quality of pharma products during transport and distribution. It also means maintaining the right temperature conditions or traceability. It can also improve the confidence of customers and the market in general.
“Our company has invested significantly in the training of our staff and in the implementation of quality processes that ensure that the pharmaceutical products we transport reach their destination safely and in perfect condition”, the transport company emphasises.
Improved access to international markets
GDP certification can also facilitate greater access to international consumer markets, as many countries require pharmaceutical products to meet specific Good Distribution Practice standards in order to be imported.
Transped, an international transport company since 1974, currently offers maritime, air, multimodal and land services all over the world. Being part of the Alonso Group gives it an added and strategic value as it is present in all links of the supply chain. The company has a strong presence in the Iberian Peninsula, as well as its own offices in China.
