Alonso Group promotes new solidarity initiatives at both national and international levels

The Alonso holding has promoted a charitable campaign through various support actions for NGOs operating both internationally and nationally. It places special emphasis on initiatives aimed at young people and children, the main focus of its social efforts. This is yet another example of Alonso Group’s strong commitment to the communities it is part of and its ongoing active involvement in society.

In recent months, Alonso Group has carried out various aid initiatives for NGOs working both internationally (Médicos Sin Fronteras, Cruz Roja, or AGA-Ukraine) and nationally (Fundación Diverxia, Casa de la Caridad, or Casal de la Pau). The aim of these initiatives is to provide support to those who need it most. This is a testament to Alonso Group’s ongoing social commitment, reaffirming its dedication, responsibility, and solidarity with the communities it belongs to. Through these projects, Alonso Group continues to demonstrate that business growth goes hand in hand with human commitment and social responsibility.

Médicos Sin Fronteras, vaccine aid that saves lives

Thanks to the Alonso Group support, a contribution equivalent to vaccinating 11.160 children against measles has been achieved. This disease is one of the leading causes of child mortality, especially in countries such as the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Central African Republic. Thanks to the holding’s commitment, aid has reached some of the most remote corners of the world, protecting those who need it most.

The international NGO Médicos Sin Fronteras organizes annual vaccination campaigns that allow the maximum number of children to be immunized against diseases such as pneumonia, meningitis, and measles, preventing thousands of deaths each year. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), vaccination is one of the most effective public health interventions, preventing between 2 and 3 million deaths annually, especially in children.

At the international level, collaboration has also taken place with UNHCR, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, to coordinate humanitarian efforts and provide assistance to displaced persons in conflict-affected regions. Likewise, work has been carried out with UNICEF, which focuses on the protection and support of children and young people, ensuring access to education, healthcare, and nutrition programs in emergency contexts. The line of support for children has always been a constant at Alonso Group.

New employment opportunities for young people in collaboration with the Red Cross and AGA Ukraine

The Cruz Roja Employment Plan aims to bring employment closer to people with fewer opportunities. Through Grupo Alonso’s contributions, initiatives have been promoted to support young people who are distant from the labor market or facing job insecurity.

The support is channeled through the “Go Accelerators” program via personalized integration pathways, tailored to each individual’s needs and making use of tools such as early detection, training, and psychosocial support. These actions are complemented by the search for opportunities within the community and business network, aimed at activating levers for youth inclusion.

In the case of AGA Ukraine, since the outbreak of the war in 2022, Alonso Group has been collaborating with the organization to alleviate the impact on the civilian population through humanitarian aid. This also includes a program assisting those affected by the conflict, dedicated to providing hearing aids to individuals who have suffered hearing loss.

The Casa de la Caridad Early Childhood Schools project

The organization Casa de la Caridad in Valencia has a long history of supporting individuals and families in vulnerable situations. One of its projects is the Early Childhood Schools program, which provides free early education to children aged 1 to 3 who are at risk of social exclusion.

Currently, 148 children attend its three early childhood education centers for the first cycle each day, where they receive comprehensive care in a safe environment tailored to their needs. This service allows families with fewer resources to balance work and family life or remain active in the job search, with the reassurance that their children are well cared for.

Thanks to Alonso Groups collaboration, Casa de la Caridad can continue supporting families from the earliest years of their children’s lives, promoting equal opportunities and building a better future through education and social care.

Fundación Diverxia, with the schools affected by the DANA

With the aim of helping children resume their education as quickly as possible, Fundación Diverxia—linked to one of the companies in Alonso Group’s Energy and Infrastructure division—has been actively involved in the restoration of schools affected by the DANA. For example, at San Antonio de Padua II school, the cafeteria has been renovated, and the 35-meter-long exterior wall, severely damaged by the flood, has been replaced.

In addition, at María Inmaculada School in Alfafar, which has over 80 years of history, the recovery and transformation of the old school garden into a new educational space stands out, promoting outdoor activities and contact with nature.

The selection of the schools receiving assistance was based on their level of impact, specific needs, and their connection with families and workers in the Diverxia community.
