Alonso Group, commitment, involvement and perseverance after the devastating effects of the floods in Valencia
Following the impact of the DANA, which caused serious damage in the province of Valencia, Alonso business group has committed itself to directly help the affected groups and to collaborate in the recovery of the areas most affected by the floods.
Its logistical strength, the origin of the business group and the source of its international growth, has made it possible from the first moment of the tragedy to help the most affected areas with heavy machinery to remove tons of mud. At the same time, teams from the holding company, made up of professionals specialised in logistics, have been involved in the organisation of warehouses where all kinds of donations were collected. Alonso Group staff who, through their daily professional experience and know-how on organisation and last-mile distribution, have actively collaborated, together with some municipal institutions, in the creation of an aid network for those affected at ground zero. Their knowledge in the management of efficient routes and the distribution of essential resources has been key to getting aid quickly and effectively to the people who most needed it.
Maximum involvement from the outset of the disaster
Since the first day of the floods, Alonso Group has also participated in the distribution of drinking water to the population of zone zero with water tankers or in cleaning and refurbishment work on streets and public roads in the districts of the city of Valencia. Other actions have focused on direct donations of office furniture for small businesses and institutions affected. These actions have gone ahead thanks to the collaboration with UME personnel.
At the same time, a targeted line of assistance remains open in some of the affected schools, with the aim of accelerating the return to normality and ensuring that pupils can resume their studies in a safe and appropriate environment. The ultimate mission is to re-establish optimal conditions for learning as soon as possible.
In parallel, and since the beginning of the tragedy, Alonso Group has shown its strong support to employees, customers and suppliers who have been affected, directly or indirectly, by the serious effects of the DANA.
A collection of actions, constant and sustained over time, which reflects how the logistics and operational sector collaborates from experience with speed, efficiency and solidarity in the face of a large-scale natural disaster.
