Marítima Alisea renews its container fleet with the incorporation of new reefer units
For Marítima Alisea it is essential to maintain its commitment to quality with its customers and partners, and for this reason has made a strong investment in order to continue offering the best service with the most modern technical means. This renovation of the refrigerated container fleet has begun with the incorporation of new 45 foot pallet wide reefer units, one of the most advanced models and with the highest load capacity that can be found on the market.
Marítima Alisea, through its Alisea Reefers division, specialises in the transport of perishable goods between the Canary Islands and the Iberian Peninsula. With this renovation of its reefer container fleet, its customers can now count on this modern equipment that can handle up to 24 tons of cargo and can be maintained in a temperature range ranging from -40 degrees to +54 degrees.
The advantages of the 45′ Pallet Wide
Frequently in European markets the so-called EuroPallet is used, a type of pallet slightly smaller (1200X800) than the American pallet (1200X1000). In order to be able to correctly stow a larger number of pallets of this type, the Wide Pallet container was created. Externally there are no differences between a standard ISO container and a Wide Pallet container. However, in their internal measurements these containers are slightly wider.
This small difference in width is sufficient to allow a considerable increase of up to 25 percent of the cargo that can be stowed in these containers. In addition, this type of reefer containers are designed to reduce the risk of unwanted cargo movements during transport.
Despite superior measurements, these Wide Pallet containers are perfectly adapted to be handled with conventional machinery, as the hitch points on these containers are placed on the same site as the 45-foot ISO containers.
