Operasia in 2023, the “year of the rabbit” in the Chinese calendar

Our colleagues from Operasia, our freight forwarding branch in China, describe their plans, perspectives and hopes for 2023. In the Chinese calendar, this year is dedicated to the rabbit, a symbol of beauty, kindness and peace.
Dear partners,

When we started preparing this article for the “Alonso Group of the World” section of the Alonso Group Newsletter, we thought that more than ever, and given the challenges of the past year that we hope to put behind us, it was the perfect time to invite all our colleagues to participate in our writing by sharing with ALL of us their own message.

From these lines and going further down, what you are about to read is our perfect mix of the individual contribution we have received from our OPERASIA team for this article. We hope you enjoy reading it and we are sure that we can ALL identify with some of what is written.

From our finance departments to air cargo, sea freight, commercial, customer service, business development management, quality, etc., we have ALL agreed on the fact that the new 2023 is coming even later in China. In this new year, “new” means change, “new” means progress, “new” means development and “new” will mean creation.

This 2023 is the year of the rabbit in the Chinese calendar, which is a symbol of peace, goodness and beauty. We ALL hope that TOGETHER we can LEAP high, reaching far to achieve as Alonso Group our common goals. This new year, or year of the rabbit, will mean a year of luck, as we call it in China! May we be as smart as rabbits, full of energy and flexibility to face any challenge that is put in front of us and for our services to evolve and cover 5 continents completely.

兔攜好運來, The rabbit brings good luck!

As a new year arrives we have a new beginning, a new chapter in a book to write and the opportunity to SKIP from page to page.

In airfreight It’s been a very rich year for us within the air freight team under the innovative structure of the Alonso Group. Thank you ALL for giving us the strength to move forward. Surely we will go on, in the worst moments we have managed to achieve our goals, now we are going to LEAP further to conquer our dreams.

As some of our colleagues remind us, we started OPERASIA almost 20 years ago, at that time the company had 15 members, today we have JUMPED to more than 90 colleagues. To put this in the right perspective regarding personal and professional balance, some of our managers share with us how they themselves have developed: “from being a young lady to being a mother of 2 children” or “growing day by day since I was a teenager, to be smarter and stronger now”.

Forecasts in 2023

In terms of expectations for 2023, when the landscape remains unstable and unpredictable, we will need to embrace agility and flexibility in our day-to-day work. The key to successfully managing challenges is to remain positive and flexible to deal with the ups and downs we encounter along the way. We could call this the behaviour of the rabbit, which is about to start its year.

In short, over the last few years, we have experienced many different circumstances or challenges and we have learned to face and solve them. As Alonso Group we have grown together. It is a fact that we have become stronger and bigger, to become a recognised and internationally renowned group.

Our offices will be located anywhere in the world, not only to serve our customers, but also to give back to society, investing in corporate social responsibility to achieve sustainable development within OUR TEAM, the community and the environment.

Finally, the year of the rabbit is also the birth year of our Shanghai branch manager! Like her, we ALL hope that our big TEAM family can maintain a positive, passionate and professional attitude to move forward together in this new year.

To share with ALL of you an interesting Chinese cultural tradition, you can see the handmade rabbit lamp made by one of our colleagues Cristina Liu together with her son, to make sure it lights up our lives this year!

Thank you very much. ¡Únete a la fuerza del movimiento! Join the power of the movement!
