Alonso Forwarding Dominicana, the gateway to the Caribbean market

The colleagues of Alonso Forwarding Dominicana, with offices in Santo Domingo, have recently become part of our forwarding division. Excitement and great prospects for growth characterise the branch which is a gateway to the growing Caribbean market.

Alonso Forwarding Dominicana has been part of Alonso Group family for a very short time. However, we have noticed that our clients and collaborators have adapted quickly to our new corporate image. A great satisfaction for us.

In addition, we are already moving shipments with different Alonso Forwarding offices, including Spain, China, Portugal, Panama, Mexico, Colombia and Turkey. We are also starting to receive shipments routed by other offices of the group.

For us, 2023 has been a year of many challenges, of making important decisions that we are sure will continue to positively affect the performance and growth of our company. We have been able to maintain growth and profitability this year, focusing on providing an efficient service and maintaining continuous improvement in quality management.

We are currently a team of 10 professionals, highly identified with the business strategies we have been developing, very proactive and always willing to go the extra mile so that we can achieve our objectives.

Performance and projections

During this year we have significantly increased our exports, especially of construction materials and foodstuffs to other Caribbean islands such as Jamaica, Grand Cayman and the Bahamas. At the same time we are increasing import volumes from the usual markets such as Asia, the United States and Europe.

Our expectations are that export and import flows will continue to increase as the country continues to position itself and develop as a logistics hub in the Caribbean. This situation is attracting a lot of investment and could be a major turning point for the Dominican economy. This will significantly affect all logistics operators, especially companies like ours that have a strong brand name coupled with a robust service and financial platform.

By 2024 we have ample growth projections, especially in the development of our own consolidated services from origins such as Panama and China, initially, and later from Spain. We are also planning to take a more active role in identifying and attracting new Free Trade Zone clients, a sector that has been showing strong growth, especially after the pandemic.

In order to effectively meet the planned objectives, we will increase our sales force by integrating two new account executives by the first quarter of next year 2024.

Our expectations

We look forward to continuing to focus on providing an impeccable service to our customers, whether they are moving large volumes of cargo or just a small shipment of LCL cargo. We want them to feel that they are valued and that the good performance and development of their business is in our best interest.

At the same time we would like to continue to develop business with many of the Alonso Group brands and make them aware of all the growth opportunities that the Caribbean means for their current and potential customers.

We would like to end by expressing the great joy that it has meant for us to be part of a group like this, where human capital is highly valued, the environment is prioritised and brotherhood is sought between the different business units that make up the group. We also understand the challenge that this entails, which drives us to be better and more competitive every day. Making efficiency and good performance our main objectives in the years to come.

Thank you all, join the power of the movement! Join the power of the movement!
