Peru is facing a period of major investment in strategic infrastructure for the country

Boosting perishable products
According to figures from the National Superintendence of Customs and Tax Administration (SUNAT), the ports of Ilo, Salaverry, Callao, Paita and Pisco currently move around 85% of the total annual maritime cargo of Peruvian exports. With the coming into operation of the port of Chancay, much of the maritime cargo exported from Peru to South East Asia will go through this port. This will be particularly noticeable in the case of perishable products due to the shorter transit times. This is great news for the entire Alonso Forwarding Peru team, as the increase in connectivity in the country will also improve trade flows with neighbouring countries such as Brazil, Chile or Ecuador.
In other matters, in order to reinforce security and detect illegal actions, Chancay will have a system of scanners (OCR portals) that will help to check 100% of the containers entering the port complex. A commitment to maximum protection following the recent agreements with the US Embassy.

The new Jorge Chávez airport
The new Jorge Chávez airport, located in the capital Lima, will be operational as of 18 December. The state of the works, which are strategic for the country and three times the size of the current airport, is currently at around 80%. Once operational, it will have the capacity to handle 30 million passengers a year, positioning it as a key hub in the region. It will also become the first airport city in South America as it will combine airport activities with logistics, commercial, transport and tourism activities. Undoubtedly a great opportunity for our team to increase air import and export services
In short, a time of great splendour for our country, which we trust will be a new revulsive to continue growing and increasing our reach and potential. Thank you very much.
