Alonso Forwarding Guatemala: “The market does not wait and mediocrity is not an option”

Alonso Forwarding Guatemala, with an office in Guatemala City, is the Alonso Group’s branch in the country since August 2023. This month they are the protagonists of bringing us closer to the reality of a region with an enviable geographical position. 2024 was for the team a year of great opportunities for development and growth.

Alonso Forwarding Guatemala describes 2024 as “full of challenges and, at the same time, of opportunities for development and growth. Resilience was key and fundamental for progress”, the team recalls.

In terms of logistics, Guatemala, like other Latin American countries, has been facing port congestion, which has had a strong impact on delivery times. From our branch, we have tried to focus our efforts on training and offering more detailed traceability to our clients. Planning and implementing agile solutions are key for the Guatemala team.

Humility, teamwork and communication this year

From the Alonso Forwarding Guatemala team we face the new year that has begun with great enthusiasm and great prospects. In this 2025, humility, communication and teamwork are going to be indispensable characteristics in each of the team members.

At the same time, we want to continue to promote synergies between our office and the rest of the Alonso Forwarding branchs. This is undoubtedly what will make us stronger in the face of the challenges facing the supply chain. Focusing on logistics business verticals, alliances with shipping companies or strategic suppliers, together with the development of technology, are the key to achieving an efficient, personalised and quality service.

On another note, it is important to emphasise that Guatemala’s geographical position is fundamental for the region, as we have ports on both oceans. Moreover, according to the IDB (Inter-American Development Bank) it is the strongest economy in Central America. In Guatemala we play an important role as a logistics hub for the distribution of goods in nearby countries, such as Honduras, for cargo coming from Asia, for El Salvador for cargo coming from Europe, as well as for Nicaragua in general.

Finally, it should be noted that our entire team at Alonso Forwarding Guatemala firmly believes that the value of resilience will play a fundamental role in the coming years. We must bear in mind that the market does not wait and mediocrity is not an option.

Thank you very much and join the power of the movement!
