Alonso Group‘s ongoing support in the fight against the coronavirus is strong and continuous. On this occasion, through Oper Reefer Forwarding, a freight forwarder specialized in cold storage, and TYMSA, a company dedicated to the repair and maintenance of containers, it has ceded a reefer container to the Andalusian Red Cross.

The holding company has been in charge of supplying the reefer that will allow the Red Cross of Puerto Real (Cádiz) to store all kinds of perishable foodstuffs and basic necessities that associations, individuals and companies have selflessly given to the international charity. A solidarity action that has also added the effort and collaboration of other companies in the maritime sector in the region.

All the material will be distributed by the Red Cross among the most needy groups in the area which, at this time and due to the deep health crisis that our country is suffering, is being significantly affected. Especially, the most vulnerable people and families. Since the beginning of the epidemic and through the Red Cross RESPONDS plan, the entity has been establishing economic, social and health aid measures aimed at reducing the virulence of the Covid-19.

Rapid and common response to the epidemic

Since the beginning of the crisis, Alonso Group has been collaborating with and supporting all kinds of initiatives that have emerged from different areas in order to mitigate the serious impact that the epidemic is having on our country as a whole.

From workers who are helping at the Ifema hospital as volunteers, to the supply and transport of refrigerated containers for scientific research centres where a possible vaccine against Covid-19 is being researched, or for hospitals or solidarity organisations such as the Red Cross.

In spite of the importance of this situation, both nationally and internationally, Alonso Group continues to develop all its logistics activities in order to ensure the correct functioning of the global logistics chain, convinced that it is possible to defeat the coronavirus with the collaboration, work, support and unity of everyone.
