Once again, during the celebration of the Virgen del Carmen, patron saint of maritime professionals, the 7th edition of the Master’s Degree in Maritime Law and Economic-Strategic Management of the Catholic University of Valencia (UCV) came to an end. The closing event brought together students, family members, teachers, professionals from the logistics sector and Alonso Group staff, sponsor of this postgraduate course which is already a benchmark in specialised training.

During the event, which took place in compliance with all health regulations, the traditional awarding of scholarships to all students took place. In addition, in October, when a new edition of the training programme will begin, the IV Alonso Scholarship will be awarded. A recognition that rewards the student who has excelled the most during the course and that will allow him/her to enjoy an employment contract in one of the Alonso Group companies. A great opportunity to enter the professional market, to gain experience in the heart of one of the most important groups in the national and international logistics sector and to put into practice all the know-how acquired.

Logistics, essential for the economy

During the closing session, Miguel Rocher, managing director of Operplus and teacher, highlighted “the solid training that the students have acquired during these months before entering the world of work and the value of the practical knowledge that they will subsequently apply”. At the same time, he reminded all the students of “the importance of courage, transparency and commitment to the environment” and how “logistics is an essential sector in the economy of any country”.

The promotion of training, a Alonso Group constant

As part of its corporate values, Alonso Group has been supporting training for years, especially technical and specialised training. The holding company is aware of the importance of supporting this field as well as the search for new talent in order to aspire to excellence in all the business areas in which it carries out its activities.

The Master‘s Degree in Maritime Law and Economic-Strategic Management began last October and has had around twenty students from different parts of Spain as well as from countries such as Russia and Colombia. It is a theoretical-practical training with master classes and activities outside the classroom. In fact, over the months the students have received master classes from the managers of the different Alonso Group companies and have visited some of their facilities or logistics platforms. For example, the Intersagunto Terminales port terminal, the Setemar logistics platform or the Pobla Marina marina, with a wide range of leisure and nautical activities.
