INTERSAGUNTO TERMINALS RENEWS THE ISO 45001 THAT CERTIFIES ITS GOOD PRACTICES IN SAFETY AND HEALTH AT WORK

Intersagunto Terminals (IST), Alonso Group‘s multipurpose terminal located in the port of Sagunto, has successfully completed the process of renewing the ISO 45001 on safety and health at work. A certificate that accredits good practices in the reduction of occupational risks and a culture of prevention which, in turbulent times like the present, is even more remarkable. It is a recently created certificate (2018) obtained by few terminals in Spain and which IST already has.
The ISO 45001 certification is allowing IST to face with all the guarantees this health emergency caused by the coronavirus, and to implement with greater agility all the measures established by the different administrations since the beginning of the State of Alarm. By having a management system based on measurement, analysis and improvement, it has made it possible to carry out full activity at the terminal safely and without incidents.
In addition to this renovation, Alonso Group’s multipurpose terminal has also updated ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems), 14001 (Environment) and 50001 (Energy Efficiency) in a process that began last February and has recently been completed. In addition to these ISOs, which show its absolute commitment to efficiency and good practices, Intersagunto Terminals has also just renewed the State Port Service Quality Certificate and the Good Environmental Practices Convention Certificate awarded by the Port Authority of Valencia, the entity on which the port of Sagunto depends.
Obtaining the full AEO certificate
Intersagunto Terminals also has the Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) certificate in its entirety and became the first terminal in Valenciaport to obtain it (February 2019). Having the AEO certificate for Customs Security and Simplification means a significant reduction in the number of procedures and document management when carrying out any operation. Procedures are streamlined and operating times are considerably reduced.
In addition, the AEO seal guarantees the client that an operator, in addition to having passed a rigorous audit by the Tax Administration, is subject to continuous inspections that guarantee impeccable treatment of the security measures, both physical and documentary.
