New Diverxia project to promote clean energies and fight against depopulation

The company, which forms part of Alonso Grup’s Energy and Infrastructures division, has signed an agreement with the Olmedilla de Alarcón town council (Cuenca) to supply renewable energy to several municipal buildings. The initiative, in addition to being totally sustainable, is also a way of fighting rural depopulation.

Diverxia, an Alonso Group company that forms Energy and Infrastructures division, has signed an agreement with the Olmedilla de Alarcón town council (Cuenca) to supply renewable energy to several municipal buildings. In this way, the small town of Cuenca, which has barely more than 150 inhabitants, will be able to rely on solar energy sources for the daily supply of some of its public facilities.

Diverxia‘s initiative, launched after a study of its technical and environmental viability, has received the support of the local community, which has valued aspects such as sustainability, the ease of infrastructure maintenance and the promotion of self-consumption. “At Diverxia we believe in giving back to the communities. We are excited to locate our next project in this town. The local communities have a lot to offer, and we are committed to building a more sustainable future for all”, explained company sources.

Fight against rural depopulation

In addition to boosting sustainable development and promoting energy savings, the action is also a way to fight rural depopulation, a phenomenon that is becoming increasingly pressing in our country. Clean energies favour job creation – due to their installation and maintenance needs -, help local economic development – they can be another source of additional income -, reduce energy costs and can even be a source of sustainable tourism for visitors interested in rural life. An initiative, therefore, with a double impact directly linked to the nature of Diverxia‘s activity.

Diverxia, major projects implemented all over the world

Since 2006, Diverxia, a company focused on the development and execution of large projects, has implemented various renewable technologies: photovoltaic, hybrid (photovoltaic-wind) and green hydrogen in different parts of the world. This expansion has gone hand in hand with its constant commitment to preserving the environment. The company is also ODS certified for its compliance with 11 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals promoted by the United Nations.
