Alonso Forwarding Dominicana, part of Alonso Group for almost two years, has experienced remarkable growth in the Dominican Republic, consolidating its position as a strategic logistics hub for the Caribbean. With a significant increase in revenues and profits during 2024, it plans to expand its commercial strength and international services to capture new markets and strengthen its regional presence.

We have been part of Alonso Group for a little less than two years. During this period we have adapted very well to its philosophy, mission and values. Moreover, we are currently experiencing extraordinary growth and our estimates for the current year are very positive, despite the global political and commercial situation.

Dominican Republic is consolidating its position as one of the most stable economies in Latin America, with an average growth rate of 3,7% in the last two years. This climate of political, social and economic stability has allowed us to consolidate our position as a strategic distribution center for the Caribbean.

Currently, the country has 30 logistics operating companies, located in 5 logistics centers, which have generated revenues of more than US$1,614 million in these operations. Added to this is the growing interest of global companies in placing inventories in Dominican territory. This is undoubtedly a clear sign of confidence in the country’s capacity to become a logistics center with a global vision.

Our location also allows us to connect in record time to multiple destinations, including the United States, Europe and the rest of Latin America and the Caribbean. Preferential access to a market of 900 million potential consumers.

Our current business portfolio covers several business segments, among which we can highlight as main ones: industrial supplies, technology, medicines and medical items, automotive spare parts, household appliances, perishable cargo, agro-industrial products or dry groceries.

Our perspectives

Last year 2024 we significantly increased our cargo flow, both in terms of shipment volumes and TEUs, as well as in terms of revenues generated and profit margins. Total revenue increased by 180,10% compared to 2023, while gross profit increased by 125,99% compared to 2023. This growth is based on the acquisition of new accounts, the strengthening of existing ones, the identification of new markets and the support of all Alonso Group offices.

Another essential part of this growth has been our team of highly focused and motivated professionals. Always willing to strive to achieve common goals and to work with passion and commitment so that our clients receive quality service at all times. Constant training and qualification has meant that we have competent and committed professionals.

We plan to increase our sales force to significantly increase the range of customers visited and to be able to cover a much wider area of management throughout the national geography. We want to pay special attention to clients in the Free Trade Zone and to infrastructure and tourism chain promoters. We will also be able to capture global accounts that wish to establish themselves in the Dominican Republic in order to have part of their distribution to the rest of the Caribbean, Central and South America and the East Coast of the United States.

Among our plans is also the development of a consolidated service from Panama and Spain, as well as continuing to boost airfreight service from Europe and Asia. To achieve this, we are working to increase our market intelligence, obtaining quality statistical information and customer data from our main competitors.

Finally, we wish to continue developing business together with the Alonso Group different brands and provide them with all the growth opportunities that the Caribbean means for their current and potential customers.

Thank you all very much and… Join the force of the movement!
