Jorge Alonso receives the Entrepreneur of the Year Award

Jorge Alonso, President and CEO of Alonso Group, has been awarded the Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the 5th edition of the Tourism and Transport Leaders Awards organized by the magazine Gaceta de Turismo. The award is a recognition of his work at the head of the company, having managed to position Alonso Group as a leading company in the Spanish logistics sector.

The 5th edition of the Leading Tourism and Transport Awards took place in Valencia on Thursday 31st May. This event, organised by the publication Gaceta de Turismo, pays tribute to the companies and organisations that make progress in these two key sectors for the economy of the Valencia Region: tourism and logistics.

In this context, Jorge Alonso, President and CEO of Alonso Group, received one of the awards that recognize him as Entrepreneur of the Year in the category of logistics and transport. Alonso’s innovative business vision, which has managed to position the multi-sector holding company he manages as a reference in the field of logistics at a national and international level, has earned him the recognition of a jury made up of professionals from the tourism sector.

Support to the logistics sector

Along with the representation of the Alonso Group, more than 300 guests from the world of tourism, transport and logistics of the Valencia Region participated in this gala as a sign of support and recognition for the daily efforts of the Valencian business community.

The awards ceremony was presided over by Francesc Colomer, Regional Secretary for Tourism of the Valencia Region, and Sandra Gómez, President of the Turisme València Covention Bureau. In turn, Vicente Palací, representing the Valencia Port Authority, was in charge of presenting the commemorative plate to Jorge Alonso as Entrepreneur of the Year.

These awards are intended to draw attention to the fundamental role played by the logistics sector in the development of the Spanish economy as a whole. This perfectly represents the philosophy of the Alonso Group, which, through its Global Logistics Plan, is developing a logistics network that will allow its different platforms distributed throughout the Iberian Peninsula to be structured under criteria of efficiency, rationality and respect for the environment.
