Alonso Group shows at SIL Barcelona the potential of its Global Logistics Plan
“Fira de Barcelona” is hosting the SIL Barcelona 2018 International Logistics Show until 7 June. This event, which is considered to be one of the most important fairs in the logistics sector, this year has an important presence of the Valencia Region as a “Guest Community”.
Alonso Group, as a leading company in the national and international logistics sector with headquarters in Valencia, is one of the companies that make up the Valencian delegation present at the SIL Barcelona 2018. In addition to having a presence at the 300m2 stand that has been installed in the exhibition area, the Alonso Group actively participates in various events and panel discussions through the figure of its President, Jorge Alonso.
The Valencia Region, a cornerstone in the sector
The Valencia Region lands at SIL Barcelona 2018, showing great potential as a leading logistics hub in Spain. A position of pre-eminence that requires the joint effort of all the agents involved to continue growing.
In this sense, Jorge Alonso stated that “it is essential that there be a permanent dialogue between all of us in order to move forward: administrations, companies, operators… There is no doubt that the Valencia Region has a key geostrategic position for the logistics sector, but it is necessary that all the actors involved believe in it“.
The Global Logistics Plan as a model for the future
During the different interventions that Alonso is making in the SIL Barcelona 2018 the common element is to claim the importance of a growth in the logistics sector planned under criteria of efficiency, rationality and sustainability. Something that in the case of Alonso Group is materialized through its Global Logistics Plan.
With platforms distributed by the main nodes of maritime transport of goods in Spain, Alonso Group proposes the creation of a logistics network interconnected by rail to provide a reliable, regular and low CO2 emissions service to the atmosphere.
This development of intermodal infrastructures is complemented in terms of equipment with a commitment to efficient last mile transport by trucks powered by Vehicular Natural Gas.
Under these premises, the Alonso Group’s Global Logistics Plan, whose project has been co-financed by the European Commission through the `Connecting Europe facility’, aims to chart a development path for the logistics sector that is up to market demands and aligned with the European Union’s postulates on sustainability.
